Huge sale at Sears. I hate to see so many go out of business. Found a great winter coat. Lands End.
After waiting 3 weeks for Home Depot to finally deliver our fridge, it arrived all dented and was sent back. We immediately went to Sears and they were terrific. Had a new LG french door fridge delivered in 3 days. The delivery person said he couldn't fit it through one of our doors so he left it sitting in a room, assuring me he'd come back quickly to pick up our old one when ready. We took off the doors, drawers etc on the new fridge and installed it. Then we carried the old fridge out to our porch. Here's why the 1 star rating. I called him for pick up of old, have to call Sears, got overseas cs, told them the driver was in my hood, she said she'd schedule pick up for a week from now. I said not acceptable, we did all the work of install and removal, the driver is in our area and I needed it taken away sooner. She agreed but when I called later in day to see why it was still there, was told it was scheduled for a week away. I'll pay to have it removed even though I paid them for removal. It's really a shame that Sears outsourced these two important tasks, delivery by a third party that put no effort into it and overseas customer service. Up till that point I was incredibly impressed and looking forward to replacing other appliances. I'll probably cancel my $450 service contract as I hold no hope that a problem would be effortless.
Sears is a decent place to purchase a lot of different items. They have a nice hardware section as well. It is not my favorite store but is good for some people.
Rude female sales associate in appliances who chose to help people of a paler persuasion instead of the darker folk who were before them. After 30 minutes, a nice young man from the mattress department tried to help us by the fridge but didn't know how to ring it up. He asked that woman for help and was told he wasn't qualified, and we would have to wait. We left after another 45 minutes and ordered a fridge on line. I will never go there or do business with them again.
Had a good experience with friendly staff here, both in purchasing and in picking up my merchandise. The store is never too crowded, and there are enough staff people here to help you out, unlike many Sears stores that are woefully understaffed. I have not found the prices to be high here, but I suppose it depends on what you're buying.
